                                       About Me

I started working at Minnieville Elementary School in January 2014. Working with kindergarteners has been a great experience for me as a teacher and I really enjoy working with this age group. I've also had previous experience working with preschool age children.

As far as my educational background, I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Florida Atlantic University, and a master's degree in early childhood education from George Mason University.

I greatly value having good communication with all the families that I work with so please contact me by phone 703-670-6106, or by email Obandop@pwcs.edu, and I can address any questions or concerns that you might have.

                                  Instructional Assistant
My name is Alison Roberts. I am from England, but have worked at Minnieville Elementary for twenty years; the first five as a Phonemic Awareness Tutor and the last fifteen as an Instructional Assistant.

I look forward to helping your student grow, flourish and soar to their full potential. I’m sure we will have a wonderful year of learning!

Activities for school closing/prolonged absence
Kindergarten students will be provided with materials at the beginning of the school year to keep at home to maintain skills during school closings and/or prolonged absences. If more activities are desired, please click con the "files and documents" tab, and under the heading "Wensite prolonged absence" you will find more activities. Thank you for all your support at home.

We had a great Open House today and I was able to meet most of my students and their families! If you were not able to make it, I will be sending out a bag of extra materials that your child can use throughout the school year to practice all the skills they are learning at school. The materials do not have to be returned to school, please keep them at home.

First day of school :  All the supplies will be provided by the school this year, so you do not need to send anything except an extra change of clothes in your child's backpack. Our first day will be amazing!

Snack: We have a scheduled time at 1:30 p.m. for snack. The school does not provide a snack. If you would like your child to have a snack please send a small snack in their backpack.

We will have our Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 25 at 6:00 - 7:00 pm. There will be important information about your child's education as well as general information about our school. I look forward to seeing you.
