Science-Living Systems We will have the Living Systems unit test this week. Students need to review their study guide and notes. A completed study guide is available on the Homework link.
Students will classify organisms into the 5 kingdoms: animals, plants, fungi, protists, and monerans.
Students will identify and describe the target vocabulary: cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, vacuole, mitochondria, and chloroplast.
Students will discuss how and why scientists classify organisms by creating a dichotomous key. Plants are vascular or nonvascular. Animals are vertebrates or invertebrates.

Math: We will continue our Measurement unit. We will calculate elapsed time over a 24-hour period of time by solving word problems. We will also learn about U.S. Customary and Metric units of length and mass. We will learn how to convert them and choose the best unit of measure when given different situations.

Language Arts- Students will identify types of figurative language by writing definitions and examples from song examples to create a foldable study booklet. This week we will focus on similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration, hyperbole, idiom, and onomatopoeia. Students will identify stanzas and rhyme scheme in poetry.
