Each day children come to Minnieville Elementary is an opportunity for learning and fun!  Through engaging, hands-on activities, we will explore letters, reading, and writing.  We will engage in activities to enjoy math, numbers and counting.  If I can help you in any way to support your child at home, please reach out to me by emailing at: posgaijk@pwcs.edu.  Or, contact our instructional assistant, Alison Roberts at: robertad@pwcs.edu.  We look forward to working with you to make this an outstanding year!

Choice Boards staring 4/20/20

Dear Families,

We have entered the next phase of Prince William County's online learning program, which means that families have been provided with learning resources, ungraded review activities, and optional learning activities to improve grades.
Beginning Monday, April 20, 2020, a Choice Board of learning activities will be posted on Class Dojo, as well as the class webpage.  The choice board includes suggested activities that are optional, ungraded, and a review of previously taught material and skills.  Students may complete activities from either column: Activity Choice 1, Activity Choice 2, OR a mix of both columns.
Our goal is to not overwhelm families at this time.  Please do what you are able and as your schedule allows. Thank you for all that you are doing to help your child continue learning.

Dear Families,

Minnieville kindergarten teachers will be holding weekly Zoom meetings with students.  Our class schedule Zoom meeting will be every Tuesday at 11:30.  The goal of the 15 minute Zoom meeting will be to allow students to build oral language skills by participating in conversations with teachers and peers. April 15, 2020

Dear Families,

Beginning the week of April 20, 2020, Minnieville Elementary kindergarten teachers will have office hours every Wednesday from 11 am-1 pm per guidance from Prince William County Public Schools.  During office hours, parents will be able to contact teachers to ask questions or obtain assistance with academic support.  Teachers will be available via Class Dojo and email and will be able to provide you with a prompt response.  As we have done throughout the 2019-20 school year, we will always try our best to respond to your concerns.

Also, Mrs. Hunt is offering virtual office hours through zoom 10 a.m.-2 p.m. daily.  Please access the link through my post on "Class Story" in Dojo.

Thank you for your continued support.

April 3, 2020
Dear Parents,

At this time, the best way to stay informed with information about your child's learning is through the app Class Dojo.  I post frequent updates on class story and through the private message feature.  Class Dojo is also a way for you to contact me, or you can reach me through email: posgaijk@pwcs.edu.

Here on this page, I have updated resources for you to use with your child for online/distance learning.  You can access these resources on the left hand side of the page (click on Files and Documents).

Some resources are specific to students and require them to login through their Clever account.  If you need your child's login, please message me through dojo or email.  Instructions to log on to myon/clever can be found by clicking on "Files and Documents" on the left, then "literacy activities for online learning".

Please let me know if I can support you in any way during this transitional time.

 March 23, 2020

By order of the Governor of Virginia, all Prince William County Schools will remain closed to students through the end of this school year (June 2020) due to the health concerns caused by COVID-19.  We will continue to update families as soon as more information is relayed.  If you are interested in resources to use at home, please clink on the links on the left side of this page or visit the following link posted by PWCS.
